Tessa had a very busy weekend traveling to Forest Hills for James’ brother and Sara’s wedding. She experienced many firsts! First time flying in an airplane, first time in a hotel, and her first time camping.
It started with her first plane ride to Sacramento. She did such an amazing job on the plane. She was happy the whole time and didn’t fuss once. We even got compliments on how well behaved she was from other passengers.
After landing we had to get a rental car. Tessa decided to nap in the carrier and on the drive to the hotel.
Once in the hotel Tessa loved playing on the big bed while Mommy and Daddy got dressed and ready for the wedding.
The drive to the wedding took about an hour and 15 minutes and was located in Forest Hills at a campsite. Tessa napped on the way there but still wouldn’t smile for pictures.
Tessa met her Grandpa (James’ Dad), Grandma (James’ step mom), and Great Grandma for the first time as well. She met her uncle and now aunt too but they were busy so we missed a picture.
Tessa needed a break so we played in the back seat of the rental car and took selfies while the bride and groom had their first dance. She seriously LOVES toys!
Once we got back to the hotel we were all dirty, sweaty and tired. The hotel shower head didn’t come down so we had to improvise and give Tessa a bath in the sink. She didn’t mind it at all!
I was most worried about Tessa sleeping in a bed since she has only slept in her crib. She slept pretty well that night and woke up ready to play again.
The busy weekend wore her out.
And back to the airport we went.
Tessa did amazing on the flight home! She even took a nap. I was happy we got a whole row of seats to ourselves. It allowed her to look out the window and play in the middle seat. Her favorite part of the airplane was the silver knob that realized the tray table.
Once we were back home Great Aunt Penny picked us up at the airport. Tessa was happy to be home and play in her activity gym.
Overall, it was a great weekend. I couldn’t have asked for Tessa to be better behaved! I think James and I did pretty well as parents too!
