This month was so busy with the holidays! Tessa loved every minute of the Christmas season. She loved looking at Christmas lights nightly, plugging in her Mickey and Minnie blow ups, as well as making our house festive by constantly keeping the Christmas trees plugged in. She loved the Christmas decorations so much we had to slowly put a few away each day.
Even though we were busy Tessa managed to FaceTime her Gigi, Papa, Auntie, Tia, and Uncle Matt on a daily basis. She loves to have them watch her play instead of actually talking to them. She would much rather have them all round 24/7 if she could.
Tessa has had quite a stubborn attitude lately and likes to get her way. This has led to a few trips to the calm down spot which has been working nicely. She can also tend to be a little bossy telling people where to sit when they play with her. I’m hoping this leads to leadership skills in the future.
She loves to count things and actually points her finger on each object as she counts. We are currently working on teaching her how to spell her name.
Her favorite show is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She gets to watch one show in the morning before we start our day. It’s cute to watch her call for Toodles and really pay attention to what is going on in the show.
This month we stopped Gymboree because Tessa has started talking longer afternoon naps so we weren’t able to make it to the free play times. To make up for it we have been going to story time at the local library which she really enjoys.
This month she surprised me while playing with her shape sorter. She knows the name of a circle, triangle, square, star, and oval. She can also find the shape on the shape sorter ball and put it in all by herself.
Tessa still nurses twice daily, in the morning and before bed. We are working on the weaning process but it is a slow one. I’m just thankful that she started sleeping through the night.
Looking forward to planning her 2nd birthday in these new few months!
