Landon is growing up so quickly and the months just keep flying by!
This month Landon started solids. So far he has had rice cereal and butternut squash. He liked both and loves to chew on the washcloth after you wipe his face. He also enjoys sitting in his high chair at dinner. I think he feels like he is apart of the family even if he doesn’t eat. We normally give him a cold teether or teething cookie to keep him entertained.
Teething has been rough this month and we still don’t see any teeth poking through.
Landon was being very wiggly while nursing and arching his back again. I was so disappointed because I haven’t had any dairy since he was 8 weeks old! His diapers were also full of mucus and smelled like vinegar. After some research I found out that he probably also has a soy intolerance. My soy intake had increased because it is an alternative to dairy. Although giving up both soy and dairy has had its challenges it is so worth it to see Landon happier plus I’m losing weight fast!
Landon has been improving his gross motor skills this month. He can reach for toys while sitting, grab them, and go back to a seated position. He is constantly grabbing for anything we are holding and in Tessa’s case it is normally Cindy. When given something he reaches and grabs it with his right hand. To work on his fine motor skills we have been giving him puffs in the high chair to practice picking up but right now he is so aggressive that they normally get flung across the kitchen.
When playing or when we hold him he likes to tap on his or our legs. It’s a cute little habit he has.
Landon has started screaming or crying when you take something away that he still wants. Normally it’s the the wash cloth to rinse it out. He hasn’t started saying constant sounds yet like mama or dada but he has started “talking” more which is good.
He has learned to wave but does what most babies do and waves at himself. He is started to wave when he enters a room or when someone says hi which is adorable.
His favorite toy is his jumperoo. He could watch Tessa sing and dance whil bouncing for hours if we let him. He thinks Tessa is the best and is always giggling with her.
Crawling still hasn’t happen and we aren’t even close. He either does a plank or shamu pose. If Tessa and I can quit enabling him by giving him toys closer he might start making more progress. I can’t blame him though he is a big heavy boy.
Landon loves to sleep in which would be great if Tessa did as well. We are getting into a routine which is nice. He wakes up around 8/8:30 nurses every 3 hours, naps between 10:30 and 11. Then plays and naps again around 2:30/3. He goes to bed between 7:30-8:30pm wakes up to nurse between 11:30pm and 1:00am and again around 4am then sleeps until 8/8:30am.
I love how Landon’s personality is starting to show through in his pictures.
