Decorating for Christmas

Normally I decorate our house in brown, blue, and gold decorations, but with it being Tessa’s first Christmas and having a new couch that takes up most of the room we decided to pack those decorations up and go with your traditional red and green color scheme.
Since our old tree was too big to fit with the new couch I ordered a pencil tree from Walmart.
Auntie Madi came by to help watch Tessa while James and I ran to the store to pick up our new tree as well as new stockings, stocking holders, tree skirt and a tree topper. After stopping at 5 stores and no luck with a tree topper we headed home. I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep if we didn’t get that picture of Tessa putting on the star so I sent James to Home Depot to find a tree topper. Madi and I decided to quickly build the tree and put on the garland. Tessa started squealing when she saw the tree lit up and was even more excited when she saw the candy garland. She was such a trooper and played with her Christmas village toy set while we were working.

Tessa enjoyed putting on her Bee Mickey Ear ornament and did a great job with the star!

I’m so glad Madi came over to capture these moments for us.
Tessa loves her tree!

After Tessa went to bed James and I finished putting on the ornaments. I love the way the tree turned out. I’ll get to decorating the mantle and the rest of the house later this week.
