Ever since last week Landon has been spitting up constantly and occasionally throwing up. I googled what to do and tried holding him after he ate, waiting to do tummy time, and even pumping a little before he nursed to help with my let down. Nothing was helping. He was constantly wiggling, arching his back, making gagging noises, and being generally unhappy. I knew something was up and after doing some research I came to the conclusion he has acid reflux. I messaged his doctor and explained his symptoms. A nurse called me back and said they wanted to schedule him an appointment. Tonight we went to the doctor. I was worried the doctor would dismiss his symptoms luckily he spit up right in the waiting room so I quickly took a picture to show the doctor. I had also taken a video earlier in the day to show her. Once we met with the doctor and I explained what was going on she agreed that he does have acid reflux and prescribed a liquid Zantac for Landon to take twice a day. I gave him a dose once we got to the car. When we came home I put him down to play and he wasn’t whining or unhappy. Then when it came time to nurse he latched on well and didn’t arch his back. It appears that the medicine is already working! I’m looking forward to seeing a change in Landon’s behavior over the next few days. Hopefully we have a happy baby soon! I’m also glad I went with my gut and reached out to his doctor.
Spit up baby (gross I know)
